Thank you SoT! Definitely, Karnatic stuff is great and understanding it makes playing math rock and intricate metal stuff much easier. More hints to come soon, I've just been quite busy with work lately!

Thanks EDM! Yeah, it is quite tough to sequence (on step sequencers), considering sequencers don't generally allow for you to split the beat like this. But, that being said it is a really interesting subject to dive into. Don't forget to practice counting at a slow tempo so you can feel the subdivisions! You should be able to count out each subdivision, and feel them differently with any time signature. As I mentioned to SoT, it makes math rock a breeze! The slower the better, otherwise when you crank it up to something as simple as 120 BPMs it gets easy to get lost!
